AYHA Blue Jackets Volunteer Form for CBJ 50/50 Raffle
The CBJ Foundation 50/50 Raffle proceeds will be shared by the winning ticket holder and Athens Hockey during the Sunday, March 25 Blue Jackets vs. Oilers game. Staffing the 50/50 raffle requires 40 AYHA volunteers (do NOT need to be AYHA members) to distribute $1 raffle tickets to fans attending the game that afternoon. AYHA will evenly split the winnings with the winner of the raffle. Guidelines for Participation: 1.) All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. NO CHILDREN will be admitted with volunteers regardless of whether or not they hold game tickets. 2.) Volunteer duties are assigned to volunteers upon their arrival by Foundation 50/50 staff on a first-come, first-serve basis. All Volunteers must arrive no later than two and a quarter (2 1/4) hours** prior to game time at the John H. McConnell Street Entrance of Nationwide Arena. **Game time is 3:00pm. VOLUNTEERS NEED TO ARRIVE BY 12:45pm** Volunteer Job Duties and Expectations: SELLERS - The majority of volunteers will sell 50/50 tickets in the concourses at Nationwide Arena. These volunteers should be comfortable making themselves noticeable in public in order to encourage customers to buy tickets. The most effective and successful Sellers are outgoing and enthusiastic individuals. Each Seller will either work independently or will be paired with one other Seller at the discretion of Foundation 50/50 staff. COUNTERS/TICKET SEPARATORS - The remainder of the volunteers will count cash and/or separate tickets in the count room for the duration of the 50/50 Raffle. The best Counters are individuals who are comfortable handling and counting both coin and bills quickly and efficiently in a time-pressured environment. Separating tickets is the least demanding job, but requires patience and attention to detail. What about parking? Parking is available in the Arena Garage located on the corner of Front Street and Nationwide Blvd. The Foundation has negotiated a special rate of $3.00 for Volunteers. The parking attendant will have the volunteer list submitted to the Foundation. Volunteers must identify themselves to the parking attendant and mention that they are on the volunteer list to get this rate. Will I have to purchase a ticket? Tickets are not required for participation and volunteers are technically not permitted to remain in the arena after raffle tickets have been distributed unless they hold game tickets. Please see the Blue Jackets Foundation "Guidelines for Volunteers" below for more information. Sign up to volunteer by clicking on the link below or contact me at deanna.athens at gmail.com<mailto:deanna.athens at gmail.com> for more information.

Guidelines for Volunteers
COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS FOUNDATION 50/50 RAFFLE GUIDELINES FOR VOLUNTEERS Volunteering for the 50/50 Raffle (the "Raffle") is demanding, and requires you to be flexible and able to work under time pressure. These guidelines are intended to help the program run smoothly and make your volunteer experience a positive one. Volunteers who do not adhere to the following guidelines may be asked to leave Nationwide Arena (the "Arena"). GENERAL GUIDELINES All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. NO CHILDREN will be admitted with volunteers, regardless of whether or not they hold game tickets. While working the Volunteers may NOT wear hats or clothing that contain logos of NHL teams, except the Blue Jackets, or jerseys that are the design and coloration of NHL teams, except the Blue Jackets. This includes minor sports teams that use NHL teams' logos and/or colors. Blue Jackets apparel is permitted and encouraged! [NOTE the Blue Jackets staff will provide us with full aprons that we must wear. We are permitted to attach AYHA pins to the aprons and we may also wear AYHA hats]. Volunteers must be well-groomed, clean shaven, and appropriately dressed (no ripped jeans or extreme piercings). WE HAVE AND WILL TURN AWAY ANYONE WHO IS NOT APPROPRIATELY DRESSED. Volunteers may NOT drink alcohol, smoke, or watch the game while working the 50/50 Raffle. Nationwide Arena is a non-smoking facility. Volunteers should eat prior to or after the Raffle. No food is provided and Volunteers are asked not to eat while working the Raffle. Volunteers will only be allowed to access certain areas within the Arena. The Media Lounge, dressing rooms, and press box, are not accessible to Volunteers. Game tickets will not be provided to Volunteers, but tickets are not required for participation. Volunteers will not be permitted to remain in the Arena following the completion of their Raffle duties unless they hold game tickets. It is recommended that Volunteers avoid bringing large bags or knapsacks to the game due to new security measures in place at the Arena. Arena security will use their discretion on whether or not to allow such items into the Arena. WHEN AND WHERE SHOULD I ARRIVE? Volunteers must arrive no later than two and one quarter (2 ¼) hours prior to game time, unless directed otherwise by their 50/50 Raffle Coordinator. If you are late in arriving, the Foundation may refuse to allow you to participate on that Game Date. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I GET THERE? On game day, Volunteers must enter Nationwide Arena by the John H. McConnell Street Entrance and sign in with the 50/50 Game Day Coordinator. Volunteers will remain within the designated area for Volunteers until all Volunteers arrive. The Foundation 50/50 Coordinator will escort Volunteers to the Count Room where Volunteers will sign in again. Volunteer Assignments Once in the Count Room the 50/50 staff will assign, on a first-come, first-serve basis, all Volunteers to sell tickets, count cash, or separate tickets. Please see below for brief descriptions of each job. Volunteer Job Descriptions Seller The majority of Volunteers will sell tickets in the concourses of Nationwide Arena at designated locations. Sellers will be responsible for making themselves noticeable to the public in order to encourage customers to buy tickets. After ticket sales end, Sellers will be expected to assist with organizing the aprons and/or perform other duties in the Count Room. Sellers sell from the time the arena doors open to the end of the first intermission. Cash Counter Some Volunteers will count cash in the Count Room. Counters will be stationed in the Count Room for the duration of the Raffle and will be handling cash in a time-pressured environment. After all of the cash is counted, Counters will be expected to assist with other duties in the Count Room. Ticket Separator Some Volunteers will serve as Ticket Separators, and will be stationed in the Count Room for the duration of the Raffle. Separating tickets is the least demanding task, but requires patience and attention to detail. After all of the tickets are separated, Separators will be expected to assist with other duties in the Count Room. Volunteer Training After Volunteer assignments are completed, the 50/50 staff will conduct a brief training session for all Volunteer positions. Please note that the Count Room is in an isolated location in the Arena, and the game is NOT visible from this room. Thank you! We hope you enjoy your volunteer experience!
