[Biking-L] No Meeting Tonight

Hey yall,

So the backpacking bike trip is out, I'm looking at just going south camping and riding a few different trail systems.  So no light camping, eating good, and not biking with all your gear.  

Anyone up and want to help plan let me know.

OU MBC,

I just wanted to say there is no meeting tonight. We will plan on having a meeting next Tuesday. This meeting will be important for everyone to attend, since we'll be getting everyone's opinions on what to do about our status with Club Sports.

As I mentioned, Campus Recreation and Club Sports have a proposal of a pay-to-play system due to some budget reductions. I think it might be well worth it to stay with Club Sports on this one, and here's why. The pay-to-play will operate by an quarterly, optional student fee of $30.00 on your student account. If you choose to pay this fee, it will make you eligible for ALL Club Sports as well as ALL Intramural Sports during that quarter. Mind you, there will still be the membership dues for each individual club, but still, it might be worth paying the $30 recreation fee. We will explain and discuss this further at the meeting so we can make a decision to stay a Club Sport or simply be a Student Organization.  (We are currently both a Student Organization and a Club Sport, by the way.)

Remember, I'll be outta here next year, so it's not really my call. You all gotta speak up about what you want to see happen next year. 

On another not, this might be a good time for people to consider if they want to be an officer for OU MBC next year. Elections will probably take place early spring quarter. 

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me or even blast the listserv. Sending them out on the listserv will keep the topic on everyone's minds.
