issue and having meetings and calling people names and saying this is a
non-issue etc. I think we should simply look at the merits of discussing the
points that Prosper has brought up, I mean all the man said he wanted were some
answers. We are mostly graduate students and a good percentage of members are
in some sort of Social Science discipline. These are the types of discussions
that you have daily in your classes and that anyone who is a certain age should
have. I know some people are getting aggravated at being inundated by multiple
emails, but that’s one of the things that happens when you are on a
listserv that works properly.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Having said that, Prosper you had issues with 3 things: More
ballots than voters, an un-secret voting process and absentee ballots. A lot of
these were stipulations which you made to the electoral committee. When you
were rebuffed, why didn’t you bring your concerns to the General Body
BEFORE the election or BEFORE the votes were cast? You have multiple
experiences being in governing positions and you should know that in politics,
your views/opinions may carry weight, but without support they have no effect. If
you had at least rallied your base/support to bring forth your ideas (about the
electoral process), then your voice might have been better heard. However, you
waited for too long to voice these concerns and now that the majority has spoken
(overwhelmingly), you choose to voice them. You have provided some solid ideas,
no one can argue with that. They are well-thought out and seem to come from a
lifetime of experience. However, I think one of the things that you have failed
to realize is that you need PEOPLE to advance your ideas. Therefore if you
chose not to employ the people that you would like to lead, how can you expect
support at this juncture?<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>I was writing this email when I received the email that Andy
sent. He mentioned the constitution and he made a very good point (several
actually). More importantly, do you know what the constitution says about
elections and how they will be carried out? The constitution is <a
href="http://cscwww.cats.ohiou.edu/~asu/constitution.htm">here</a> for anyone
who wants to read it. The constitution does not mention the possibility of an
annulment or the grounds for which one would occur. Therefore, for that to
occur, an amendment would need to be made. For an amendment to be made, that
requires the approval of the general body, who you have appeared to ostracize. <o:p></o:p></p>
