active participation. One was wondering if that level of success could have
been achieved without all our constituents—competitors, outgoing executives and
union members—playing their respective roles towards the collective good. I am
particularly gladdened by the fact that we had the opportunity to examine and
consider all aspects of opinions fielded by candidates and also questioned the
feasibility of those conceptions.<span style=""> </span>With
hindsight, it is obvious that it would have passed ordinarily as customary,
like in a rite of passage, where individuals would go through that transition
and be incorporated into a new role without the ample opportunity for
arbitration of ideas.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">As we enter the homestretch of this campaign this week, let’s
reflect on the feasibility of the programs, the beauty of democracy (contest of
ideas), and most of all what we all hope to contribute to strengthening the union.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
