Hello Guys!
I have copy and pasted an email from Catherine Cutcher aka. Mama Amani asking for ASU members to participate in the upcoming International Women's festival taking place March the 17th. We want to see the continent of Africa represented so we urge all of you both men and women with all talents to participate and represent our motherland! Additional information is below.
Have a wonderful Spring Break!

THE WOMEN’S CENTER IS LOOKING FOR PARTICIPANTS FOR ITS INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY FESTIVAL TO BE HELD ON MARCH 17, 2013.

This year’s festival will celebrate the past, present, and future accomplishments of women worldwide. The Festival will provide an opportunity for the campus community to highlight women’s and girl’s achievements, to reflect on women’s status today, and to project into women’s future as local, national, and global subjects and citizens. We encourage all members of our community -- domestic and international, students, faculty, staff, and community and family members -- to participate in this event.

You can contribute to the Festival in the following ways:

• Poetry (could be your own or someone else’s)
• Performance (impersonation of famous women from a region or country, dramatic readings of texts relevant to women, songs, fashion shows, excerpts from plays, novels, etc.)
• Dance (ethnic or modern)
• Readings (in English and other languages)
• Presentations on women’s culture, politics, and history
• Speeches
• Tabling for student, national and international organizations
• Vending
• Artwork
• Your own unique contribution, such as research, field work
• Volunteer to be part of the organizing committee, or help out during the Festival
• We will hold an International Women’s Fashion Show, if you would like to model clothes (traditional or contemporary), please contact Susanne Dietzel (dietzel at ohio.edu<mailto:dietzel at ohio.edu> ) for details
