Hey One & All,

Thanks Nana Kinsgley & Co. for your selfless sacrifice to make our upcoming event a success. I second Emmanuelle's suggestion but I think all the suggested papers are interesting and of relevance to us as African students and budding academes. Can we go by the more inclusive "Potted Plants in Greenhouses" and play Oliver Twist and suggest to Prof. Nyamnjoh to incorporate some aspects of doing ethnography in Africa - and by Africans, which I think is a VERY IMPORTANT subject. I think that can be possible and opens up the debate to an even wider audience.

Hi All,

My choice would be the first article 'Potted Plants in Greenhouses': A Critical Reflection on the Resilience of Colonial Education in Africa".
Partly because it deals with a less complex topic than that allows any kind of audience to easily discuss.

Best,

Emmanuelle

Hi Guys,
Happy Week 5. As part of the ASU Spring Social 2013, we intend to ask some members to cook something light and simple. Does anyone of you want to cook anything so we could work out the reimbursement layer. Please let us know. Also, since it coincides with my birthday, I have decided i will be contributing drinks to the social. This leaves us with money for food and of course some few drinks such as pub and water to be borne by ASU.
What are your views on this?

NB, the attached are papers by the ASU hero who wants to know what topic among these we would want him to present about. please make your contributions

Best,

Kingsley
