[African Student Union at OU]

Dear ASU,

Thanks to everyone who came out for the involvement fair and welcome to all
of our incoming members!

Below are the meeting minutes from the Executive Board meeting that took
place on 8/29/12:

   - International Student Union Meeting: ISU is suffering from major
   budget cuts and asked all members to decrease their requested budgets. We
   cut $100 from our budget but since we requested so much less than other
   international student organizations, we are working on getting that $100
   back.
   - We will be having our annual crossover event with food and
   entertainment hopefully on September 15th  (we are still confirming the
   space). We have set up 5 different committees for the event headed by
   executive members, please let us know which committee you would like to
   sign up for:

Entertainment and Programming: Philee
Setup and Take down: Kingsley and Laura
Food: Alassane and Eden
Logistics/Ticketing: Emmanuelle and Ben
Publicity: Philee

   - We will be having a *Welcoming Party* for all of the new and
   longstanding members of ASU. Bring your friends, everyone is welcome! It
   will be held *this Saturday the 1st at 4pm at 37 Spring st.*There will
   be food and drinks and longstanding ASU members are welcome to bring some
   as well. *Please respond to this e-mail us at asu.ohio at gmail.com if you
   are able to come. *
   - Our first General Body meeting will be this coming* Tuesday the 4th at
   8pm in the Friends of the Library room* on the 3rd floor of Alden
   Library. We will be discussing the details of crossover.

Please bring money for dues to either of these events.
