I hope you are having great starts to your semester. I wanted to reach out about a couple things that are coming up that I feel are very important.
1) Executive Retreat: Tomorrow we will have our first section-wide exec retreat. This will be a day long event where section staff and other APhiO leaders will discuss different parts of making a chapter successful, and also some professional development. It will also be a good time to connect with brothers from other chapters! If you have any questions I am sure Blue would be more than happy to answer them.
2) Regionals Conference: I know Blue and Katie have both been discussing this but I wanted to bring it up again! Conferences are a big part of being in any type of organization. At conferences we learn about what is going on in the fraternity, vote on policies, procedures, etc. , learn through workshops and meet other brothers. I got alot of my leadership experiences in APhiO through conferences and found them very helpful when it came to my own grad school, internship, and job searches. If you are able to go I would highly recommend it- especially those who are going to be graduating soon or those looking to take on an executive or leadership position. Alpha Phi Omega is such a big organization outside of Athens that has allowed me to connect with many people while interviewing. Also the conference is being held in Indianapolis and there will be plenty of time to partake in fellowship, hanging out, and exploring the city. I am aware that it is during hallOUween weekend, and honestly we all know hOUmecoming is 1000x better.
If you have any questions, concerns, or want more information about anything let me know. If the costs or time commitment are something you are worried about lets discuss it!
You can email me at ch952211 at ohio.edu or text me at 937-510-2223
Have a good weekend!
PS. I will be at the conference so its guaranteed to be a good time.
