Chapter Minutes 9/29/13

Minutes Quiz

   1. Whats going on this Saturday?
   2. Where should you put all your extra change at chapter?
   3. Where should you have dinner this Thurs for $3?
   4. How excited are you for the 5k?!?!?!

Kevin- Swab-a-thon Oct 15 10-3 Baker 3rd floor, training this Thurs 6-6:30
at Hillel House! Fall Folk Fest Swabbing Event Oct 19th

Re-Use- Run thrift stores and other things to keep things to keep things
out of landfills and create jobs, currently starting a ‘maker and fixer
workshop’, they need volunteers for there special projects! They do a lot
during student move out to take items students are getting rid of and keep
them out of the trash, also needs help flyering! They are a great
organization and we will be working with them more and more!

President

   - Office Hours- Monday 2-4 in West 82
   - Execs- Tuesday 8-8:45ish in Grover W255

Ombudsmen

   - Question of the week: What are some new fundraising ideas you would
   like to see?
   - Next week theme is.... ANIMALS!

J-Board

   - Talk to them if you’d like to run for their position

Treasurer

- Pay Dues: $60 for actives and $20 for associates

Service

   - Weeklies are up!
   - Ray of Hope donations: Thursday this week (Allison is leaving friday
   for the weekend so she would like to get them to Geoff thursday)
   - ATCO Movie Nights Oct 15 and Nov 19
   - Puttsapalooza Oct 6
   - ATCO Halloween Dance! Oct 19 (donations, event, set up, clean up)
   - Color Run Nov 9
   - Monday Lunch- whoever signs up for first shift please pick up Monday
   lunch flyers. We will offer service hours for people to have them up around
   campus later this week and next week.
   - UCM Rummage Sale Set up/Clean up: Sept 30th/Oct 2, need 4 people this
   Monday (from 1-2 and 2-3) to help set up for it, need 6 people to
   work/clean up the actual rummage sale this wednesday from 3:30-5:30
   - Swab-a-thon Oct 15/ Fall Folk Fest Swabbing Event Oct 19th, if you
   haven’t received swabbing training prior to this, you must go to a brief
   training at Hillel on Oct. 3 from 6:00-6:30
   - ACDS Food Donations- Thurs Oct 3, if you sign up please have the food
   dropped off at Allisons house by noon this thursday so she has time to drop
   them off. The kinds off food acceptable is on the website
   - Pawpaw Festival: There is a sign in sheet at the front, sign it and
   you will get your hours tonight.
   - Check the missing sign in email tonight

Membership

   - Thanks for your rush suggestions!
   - Fall 2013 pledge exec board!
   - Pledge Bro Retreat is next sunday at the low ropes course at the
   ridges! 12-4pm and its $15
   - Stay for signatures after chapter to get signatures!
   - Get your membership card and certificate- Mattie Ropelewski, Kerry
   Crump, Toya Burns
   - Come get your rush shirts $9.50 if you haven’t paid

Fellowship

   - 5k Wall Painting Tuesday Oct 1
   - Gatsby Oct 2
   - 5k Spaghetti Dinner Thursday Oct 3 UMC $3 proceeds for Good Works
   - APPLE PICKING! Sunday Oct 6 1:30pm, meet in Morton parking lot at
   12pm, drivers will get service hours
   - Homecoming Week! Monday Banner Making, Tuesday Banner Making,
   Wednesday Bonfire and Smores, Thursday Pumpkin Carving, Friday Alumni
   Cookout, Saturday Homecoming Parade!
   - Homecoming Sweatshirts- design is on the website, sign ups close and
   lock tonight at 10pm $20-25
   - Spirit Jersey- Blue with white writing, crest on front Ohio University
   underneath, sign ups close and lock tonight at 10pm $40-45
   - Old Crest sweatshirts- Morgan Mitchell, Lindsey Lykins, Katie Conlon,
   Nikole Baker, Jimmy Wilson, Danielle Taylor, Shannon Forsythe, and Deena
   Benkey get your sweatshirts!
   - Tanks for sale $20, only mediums left
   - Color wars shirts for sale $5

Faculty Pageant

   - Selling ‘Cancer Drools’ shirts for $4 after chapter for a Camp Quality
   family in need

Fundraising

   - Chipotle- October 8th 5-8:30, you do not need a flyer just say its for
   Alpha Phi Omega
   - Insomnia Cookies- October 14th all day! 6 cookies for an hour
   - Keep your reciepts
   - Buy swag!

Youth Service

   - COSI on wheels event this Thurs! We don’t have anyone signed up for
   the afternoon so please sign up!
   - Please bring sign ins from completed events so we can give your hours
   - If you’re on our committee talk to them so they know who you are
   - Pop tabs and box tops
   - Calliope Childcare is cancelled for tomorrow (Sept 30th), there will
   only be one child for the rest of the semester

5K

   - 5K FOR GOODWORKS IS SATURDAY!!!!!
   - $15 pre-registration at the bottom of Baker $20 day of registration at
   Tailgreat park (actives don’t have to register or pay)
   - Email them if you CANNOT attend the 5k this Saturday Oct 5th 10am
   Tailgreat Park
   - Monday 9/30 Registration Tabling 11-3 in Baker
   - Tuesday 10/1 Wall Painting 9pm (fellowship hour)
   - Wednesday 10/2 Registration Tabling 11-3 in Baker, Flyering and
   Chalking 8pm in Baker (5k hour)
   - Thursday 10/3 Registration Tabling 11-3 in Baker, SPAGHETTI DINNER
   5-8pm $3 UMC (fellowship hour)
   - Friday 10/4 Registration Tabling 11-3pm in Baker
   - Food donations and bringing 2 non-aphio friends to race to get hours
   - SATURDAY 10/5 IS 5K FOR GOODWORKS INC!!!!!! Registration 10am, race
   starts at 11am *day of subcommittee be there at 9:30am actives come around
   10
   - Penny wars has begun! Family bags will be in the front of chapter
   every week until Thanksgiving dinner!

Service Week

   - November 3-9!
   - Make teams for kick CF! Registration time are on the site or bring
   money to Ali or Cami
   - Spots still open for refs, cleanup, fundraiser, and registration tables
   - More week of up soon!

   - Get the shirt! $15 you can order online of pay in cash by Oct 21st
