The deadline for Senior Scripps Saturday is tomorrow. I RSVP'd and said I was going to the Strategic Communication panel, and it would be cool to have some other advertising students with me. You know PRSSA will be all over this, so let's have some representation! The info is below:

Registration Now Open for Scripps Senior Saturday on Feb. 1

The annual Scripps Senior Saturday will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, in Scripps Hall. Sponsored by the Scripps Society of Alumni & Friends, this free event is for seniors graduating in May or December 2014.  The event is held each year to help prepare graduating journalism students for their job searches. Seniors receive resume critiques and advice on their portfolios, cover letters, job-hunting strategies, and more.

The keynote speaker this year is Scripps alum Rob Harvilla, the deputy editor of SPIN magazine. Rob is a former senioreditor at Rhapsody and has also written for the Village Voice, Pitchfork, and Deadspin. There will also be a panel of alumni sharing the secrets of how they got their first job. In the afternoon, there are professional panels for students to connect with professionals and alumni in their fields.

Seniors can choose from
*         the editorial/breaking news panel,
*      the culture/entertainment/features panel,
*      the sportswriting panel, or
*      the Strategic Communications panel (for PR and advertising students).
